Hey, i was doing some web searching and I found a site that says that they can "re-size" the sleeve of your engine and make it as good as new. I was skeptical at first but I read some more and it seemed like it just might work. Has andyone ever heard of or done this before? im going to be sending my worn piston and sleeve set and see how it performs. Its not that bad for the price too! www.rayaracing.comcheck out the FAQ's

i think there are a few local guys (mongoose maybe) that can do that . maybe not for that price but you may be able to get same day service. would just be a matter of him having or you providing the right specs . that said there is an argument for some one that specializes . so thanks fer rooting this guy out im gonna send my worn sirio set his way and see what happens.
ill be watching for rapid compression loss though . as all hes done is squeeze the sleeve to compensate for the worn material. im wondering if once heated a few times the sleeve will relax back out. copper has a few interesting properties when it comes to being heated up that may counter this but we shall see .
$20 us for a refreshed set or $180 for new , hhmm , ill take that bet. man i can hear the third lap grenade from here . ROLL THE DICE BABY

This is what it says in the FAQ's
"Q: How long will this last on my Novarossi MT 12 engine? Is it just like a new piston and sleeve?
A: 2 Gallons fuel usage and up depending on how you run it. Personally as a racer who like strong performance out of my engine, i will TWEAK my P&S set after the 2 Gallon mark. Your average basher can get 4 gallons when the engine is properly cared for. The average sleeve is resized (compressed to smaller OD & ID) 0.0003" to adjust for normal piston wear. In short, the only difference between resized and new is that a resized P&S set is 1/3 of one thousandth of an INCH smaller. Note: A human hair measures 0.002"

look up os rocket. he is on forums and ebay. he has been doing it longer than anyone and his results are well documented.
I have heard guys say better than new for lasting. this guy has a trailer set up at some big races and brings many drivers pistons to these races that are sent in.
