Hey guys,
Well I've been running RC nitros for a while. Having just moved to where it snows it dampens my ability to run my cars. But there are a couple of nice carpet tracks.
I was wondering what cars you guys recommend for indoor carpet racing.
I have a 18th scale X-Ray which I have run on the course, not raced yet.
Looking for suggestions right now. I plan on going brushless and probably also a LiPo batterey pack but not sure yet. I'm mainly lookin to see what chassis you recommend.

Darren. if it's to race on the carpet, I would go for a 12th scale, given there is competition to run against. They are so freaking fast and a challenge to drive. if you can drive a 12th scale well, you can drive anything and it will improve your overall skills.
cost is very low to get involved, 4 cel battery reduces wear on brushed motors, very few parts to stock. an associated rc12L3 or L4 can be found pretty cheap. the only drawback is theyare a carpet racer and not much good outside.
if you want a better cross platform car, then ya a tc3. or you could go smaller and get an iwaver or mini z. I just put a mod motor in my iwaver and it's nearly as fast as a micro lol. can you say traction rolls? I used to be able to hold full throttle the whole track. add a $10 motor and it's a new car. ya ok, too small? sure a challenge to drive I will tell you.

I would stongly suggest a tc3 or an x-ray they are both very competitive cars. there is as much competition there as in 12th scale and if you need speed just slap a ten turn in it .
well good luck

Well I went with the TC3. Seeing as how lhs's have parts and hop-ups and knowing that the car has been around for awhile.
Does anyone know how parts it shares with the TC4?
Also, the car came with a Reedy 19 turn Quad Mag. Is this motor considered a ROAR legal 19 turn motor?
Just not sure about Roar rules and all.
This is my first electric that I am going to race so I'm trying to be as prepared before I hit the track.
Thanks.

The tc4 drive cups for main drive shaft for the tc4 will work on the tc3 and i shock towers. The Reedy 19 turn Quad Mag motor woundnt be ROAR legel because of the quad mags. The quad mags give the motor more RPM but a little less torque. But the motor would be BRCA legel.

damn
my local track runs ROAR rules.
Any recommendations for motors?
stock? 19T? Modified?
Not sure exactly which class I want to run. The car is pretty much carbon parts with an LRP Pro Sport speed control. Rated at over 7 turns.
Also, batteries. What brands do you guys have better luck with then others?

If your a new to electric racing go with a stock motor. Trinity Make a motor call Monster Horse power stock pro, thats what most people use.
For modified motors I would go with a Team orion or peak racing revolution/v2 motor.
For Racing you want a good matched 3300mAh cells. Again go with Team orion sp2's , peak racing or SMC which are 35 amp cells are pretty good.

I also would recomend running stock. it is a very competetive class. in the way of motors the most common and most widely used is the monster stock pro.try to find one that has been modified by another company such as paradigm or fantom this will give you a sweeter running motor with a few things in the way of a tune up done to it for speed.as for batteries i know that i am currently using nuclear power batteries by gp and they are very competetive and so far are bosting the best numbers around
