I'm wondering what the difference between manual speed control and ESC. I bought a truck which is now in the mail and the previous owner said you can adjust throttle sensitivity. Does that mean that it is manual not ESC. Thanx

It is probably a ESC.
Think of a ESC and MSC as a carburator on a real truck. It controls the flow of elecricty to the motor dictating your speed.
Manual Speed controls are the older version of speed control. It took a servo to move a lever that then controlled the elctricity to the motor sort of like a remote control dimmer switch on your lights.
A Electric Speed Control is the newer version and is more effecient, saves juice, weighs less, smaller in size and many do have the ability to adjust the power curve. Basically how much throttle is delivered compared to how far you have the throttle on your radio triggered, how hard your foot is on the gas basically if to follow my truck analogy above.

Thanx for the info. This is a Traxxas Stampede with the stock controller and I asked the question because I noticed that on the Traxxas site they seemed to offer 2 models of Stampde: MSC or ESC and I was hoping that mine will be ESC since it seems to be better, based on the little Knowledge I have gleaned so far by asking questions on the Forums. These Forums(people) have been awesome for getting info. Thanks to everyone.

The Traxxas Stampede has been around along time and I'm sure will be still for a long time. They probably have the info up from the older stampedes.
If your truck does have a manual i recommend upgrading to a electric speed control. But feel free to use the manual speed control if your just bashing.
