I bought a Pro RC HBX 4wd electric 1:10 rc car the other day used on ebay and when i recieved it I noticed the steering trim knob on the controller does nothing. The throttle trim knob works fine though. Could my contoller be screwed or is it the steering servo maybe? any suggestion would be appreciated.

Switch the servo's where they are plugged into the reciever. See if the problem persists on that channel or in the server. Then you will know where to start looking.
If it is the server then off to you local hobby shop you go for a servo.
If it is the channel then first try a different reciever. Your LHS, Local Hobby Shop, will probably have a old one laying around that you can just plug in for testing purposes. This will tell you if it's the reciever or the transmitter.
If the steering works but just not the trim and I misread then it is probably a loose connection in the transmitter. What brand transmitter do you have? Someone may have run into the same problem and know a fix if they know what transmitter you have if it is jus the trim knob.
