It's a locking tool, it was on since I tigntened my flywheel down. I didn't take it out cuz I didn't have a glow plug handy and dirt is not allowed in there.

Thought you might be trying out some newfangled glow plug power unit. I had seen a unit that provided power to the glowplug when revs dropped below a certain point.
