IROCC Speed Weekend 2005 Summer Touring Car Trophy Race
The Island Radio Operated Car Club (IROCC) in Victoria BC is pleased to announce its Speed Weekend 2005 trophy race this summer. It has been 12 years since the last Speed Weekend so it's high time we do it again. For the last several years IROCC has travelled to many different clubs and tracks in BC and Alberta and now we'd love to see everyone return the favour. Race date: July 9-10, 2005
Classes:
Touring Stock
-ROAR legal stock motors
-Rubber tires
-This is IROCC's flagship class and it makes for incredibly close racing.
-30+ IROCC racers are already preregistered in this class.
Touring Modified
-Any ROAR legal non-brushless motor (no minimum turn limitation)
-Rubber tires
-10+ IROCC racers are already preregistered in this class.
Touring Nitro
-Any .12 engine
-Foam tires
-15+ IROCC racers are already preregistered in this class.
There will be no 19T class. Racers looking for this class should strongly consider entering the Touring Stock class instead. The Touring Stock class is IROCC's flagship class and already has 30+ IROCC racers preregistered. We'd love to see most out-of-towners join us for some awesome racing in Touring Stock.
All classes will use IFMAR starts for qualifying.
Both electric classes will use Triple A-Mains.
The Touring Nitro class will have a 30 minute A-Main, 20 minute B-Main, and 10 minute C-Main. There will be two bump up positions for all nitro mains.
Entry Fees:
1st class $30
2nd class $20
3rd class $10
In an effort to make this race as affordable as possible for our out-of-town guests, IROCC members have offered to billet a certain number of non-local racers. If you are interested in this free accomodation option then please enquire for more details.

Colwood (10 minutes west of Victoria)

Saturday, July 9th
8AM - 11AM: Open practice and registration
11AM - 12PM: Drivers meeting
12PM - 6PM: Qualifying rounds (4 rounds with a resort after rounds 2 and 4)
6PM - 9PM: Open practice
Sunday, July 10th
8AM - 10AM: Open practice
10AM - 1PM: Last chance qualifying (2 rounds)
2PM - 5PM: Main events
5PM - 6PM: Trophy presentation and wrap-up
Other Details:
Trophies (TQ, 1st-5th in the A-Main, 1st-3rd in all other mains)
Door Prizes
Raffle for an R/C car kit
AMBrc Lap Timing system (supports personal transponders)
Washroom onsite
Many fast food establishments within a two minute walk
No power onsite
Possible free boarding with IROCC members (enquire for details)
