More impruvements are going to be made to the track in the next few weeks. We'll schedule some work parties during April 15 to April 29 (2 weeks in between races) to spread more dirt to further impruve the track and a few other things that will make the entire racing experience more enjoyable. -Seb CAM RC track person

Yep - and it held up amazingly well yesterday! There were a few places that showed some rutts and quite a few places with rocks exposed that still need a good layer of clean dirt over them, but overall the track was excellent. I think I took half the track away on my buggy though after the rain. I really like the plastic half-pipe things that the new tripple is made from; if you nose-plant, you just bounce right off.

There is a light cleanup and practice day scheduled for Friday starting at 1:00 pm.
And on Tuesday, there is a 90% possibility that 3 more truck loads of that awesome dirt will get dropped of on the track. After the April 15 race we don't race till April 29 so we’ll use the track days to spread the dirt around. So the faster it gets spread the sooner the track will be good to run on.... So a little work\play party is on for next Tuesday, Friday and Saturday starting at 1:00 pm. Cya all there.

MORE DIRT IS COMING ... 3 Truck loads of sifter top soil.
It's getting delivered on Tuesday, April 18, 2006.
As you know we can only work on the track during track days, and since after the 15th we don't have a scheduled race till the 29th, we'll have time to get the track in the best race condition ever. So, CAM RC (the offroad club) needs it's members and non mbers to spread the dirt on the track, because the faster we'll get it done the sooned we can let it rip. (as a guide, last time it took 40 people 2.5 hours to move one truck load)

The dirt has arrived!!!
I don't have to say what's the next step, I think everybody knows that the dirt is not going to place itself evenly over the track.... Happy Birthday Kamikaze Raceway.

I hurt now.... a nice hot shower is calling out to me. I think we got 2/3 of the dirt placed today. If we get a good start on Friday, we should be able to run later Friday, but Saturday for sure.

I was working today while thinking of all that dirt sitting here at the track and when I get there what do I find.... 20 or so people working on the track, some of them started at like 3 o'clock I hear and I got there at 8:20pm...it's just amazing how many people want to be a part of this Kamikaze track and when they drive their car on it.... they can say: "hey, I rememeber working on that jump or I remember building or installing that". Like someone famous once said: "YOU GUYS ROCK!" hahaha

Oh I forgot, our engineers have built some super drainage channels under the track and we'll build even more on Friday. And and, Tyler called me yesterday and we're getting more sod\turf for the rest of the infields of the track. And, if you want to see a preview of the new CAM RC web site CLICK HEREAnd if you want to see some pictures of some of the changes the track went through over the years CLICK HERE

I love the new bollards at the track.
Parking was always pretty close anyway, but now you can drive right in to your pit space, unload and then drive out. Makes it much more convenient with all the gear that RCers tend to pack.
My special project, the swimming hole, down at the river, is really coming along too. I'm at least a month and a half ahead of last year. Maybe I'll put in a 3 meter diving tower this year.

Track is ready for some racing... - over the course of the day there were 30+ people that helped with getting the track done... that was very nice - watter channels are installed under the track surface (this was a big job) - nobody took pictures... maybe next time once the grass starts coming up
- over the course of the season we're going to do several upgrades to make life eazyer.
1) Underground sprinkler system (Race Tech is donating whatever this may cost... probably $1000) 2) 30 foot long drivers stand 3) Roof on drivers stand
