Hey Guys,
I know this is a bit of a loaded/subjective question - but what's out there as far as kick ass stock motors go right now?

for race legal motors, id say the trinity stocks (p2k p2k2,), maybe the mvp from reedy, im not sure.
the new epic stocks seem pretty good. but people say that the gearing is very critical for those motors

I ended up getting a Putnam stocker. Pretty happy with it performance-wise, but I have yet to do a side-by-side comparison of it with some of the other motors in my box. My TC3 has a P2K2 in it right now and it seems to pull pretty strong as well.

I run the Putnam stocks, and all I can say is WOW!!! They are the fastest motors on the track. Maintain them and gear them properly and you will be very happy!

some of the info in the top holf or so of the posts is outdated....
There are 2 types that are the fastest... but in the end they are the same motor LOL
One of them has the bluish can and the other the more light gray\whitish can. I have them both and they are prety much the same thing. They blow away any P2K or P2K2.
Out of the box they had 5 out of 100 more power than my tunned P2K and after only tinkering with the springs I got Monster Stock (bluish can) to have 10 out of 100 more power than the P2K. For the one that the was in the graish can, I had to do some brushes work (to the same stock brush) to get it to the same power.
I dinod a Putnam yesterday and it was crazy it had 1 out of 100 more power than my motors.

When you dyno a motor you adjust the power meter to read exactly 100 and then you push "power test button" which puts load on it, which causes the number to go down to whaever. Well that motor had the most power instead of going down to 82 it went down to 83 only.
